ellis island

While I was on the site I found that the people that came here and had to got through Ellis island to come into America to be very hard and and a long process. People came here to escape starvation, poverty and sometimes even death. The Americans put this in effect to eliminate convicts, polygamists, prostitutes, person suffering from loathsome or contagious, diseases, and persons liable to become public charges in America. The English were the most crucial of groups because that's what the basis of the US is on. The Germans were leaving because there countries were getting attacked by others. In 1745 alone there was an estimated 45,000 people living in Pennsylvania. I found that to be interesting because that's a lot if people in on area. There were also Italians, Irish, Africans, Japanese, Chinese, and Jews immigrated to the US in a short period of time. Some people on would bring balls of yarn and someone on land would hold it and when it ran out the wind would carry it for a long time. Some people were so sick that they wanted to die and mostly everybody was. When they got to Ellis island they would get milk, white bread and fish.
